Task 2A - Game Concept

Name of my Game Concept,

Castle Rox

Description of my Game Concept,

There are two sides to the battle, The Dusk Settlers and Tidus Flux's troops. The aim of the game is to protect the castle from the invading enemies. Fail and you will be killed and your home land will be controlled by others.

Game Terrain Concept,

The terrain is desert like and the level of the ground is uneven and surrounded by mountains. The sky will use a daylight cycle starting from morning and ending at midnight and there are fires illuminating the environment once the time is at midnight. In the distance there is also some grassy terrain.

Game Non-Playable Characters Concept,

The NPC's that will be in my game will be Shop Keeper's, Quest Giver's, Castle Rox troop's and the enemies called Dusk Settler's.

Shop Keeper's, They allow the player to exchange currency for items, weapons or consumables.

Quest Giver's, They are how the player can progress through the game. Completing quests gives the player currency and experience points used to level up stats/attributes like health, stamina, strength etc...

Castle Rox Troop's, They are your allies whilst in combat with the Dusk Settler's. These troops can die in combat and if they do die they do not spawn again so you need to try and use them strategically. They are equipped with armour, a sword or bow and a shield.

Dusk Settler's, These are the enemies trying to capture Castle Rox and they are equipped with a variety of weapons, shields and armour. The armour isn't as protective as the Castles troops.

Game Feedback Concept,

The feedback that the player will receive will be a visible health bar, which will decrease by a certain percent if damage from enemies is taken. A sound will be played as well if you take damage. There is also a stamina bar, when attacking, the player can visibly see this bar decrease and increase after a certain amount of time has passed. An experience bar will only appear once the player has killed an enemy or completed a mission.

Once a quest has been completed, the words "Quest Completed" will be shown big on the screen. Equipped items, consumables, weapons and shields will have a yellow selection border around it to show the player what is equipped and what isn't.

Game Full-Motion Video (FMV) Concept,

There will be a cutscene  at the intro of the game which tells the story of the character Tidus Flux. The cutscene would contain a set of clips of the castle and its surroundings slowly zooming out as there is a voice telling the player the story of the main character, Tidus Flux. After the cutscene is over the player can then play the game at will.
